Foxhole Atheist Comments

What do some of the foxhole Atheists that OFA supports have to say about their care packages?

saluting.jpg - 1217 BytesI got the package yesterday at the end of the day. It was fun at work because people didn't believe who sent the package, so I was showing off the pillow and telling them what the acronym was and one guy carried around the movie telling people to "make fun of me." I took it as a compliment. I told everyone who had a cookie or Pringles that by eating them they were officially denouncing any higher power. I don't think any of them did, but it was worth a try. It also made a few other guys who I didn't know were atheists start talking about it. They were pretty interested and I told them about you and the meeting at the FOB with the Major. It was pretty cool how much fun everyone had for the rest of the day after I opened it. That pillow will come in very, very handy on the 17-hour plane ride home. I greatly appreciate everything you have done and if there is anything I can do to help the cause both from here and back in the states let me know, I would be more than happy to!

saluting.jpg - 1217 BytesIt was soooooo cool to get the package. You kind of put my parents' care packages in 2nd place! No kidding! My atheist buddy welcomed the surprise; he had just gotten off mission when he got his. A nice way to end a hard day! I wish I could thank everyone personally, to let you know that you indeed made a difference.

saluting.jpg - 1217 BytesToday we received 2 pallets full of care packages; literally hundreds of boot boxes full of stuff. Excited, I went to the break room where they were all up for grabs and that is where I started pointing out to everyone the differences in quality between an Atheist care package and a Christian care package. My biggest point was the obvious care put into the 2 different packages, the Atheist care package was 100% full of thoughtful and useful things, that if not something you like to eat, were things you would use on a daily basis (thanks for the socks by the way!). Whereas the Christian care packages contain about 1/2 lb of peppermints, old coloring books with nothing to color them, a zip lock baggie with 15 water balloons, packets of powder to season egg drop soup, a bent Frisbee from the bank, 30 pages of wire bound notebook paper ripped out and stapled together with a dried up pen from the bank, one tea bag, lots of information about their church, books on keeping devotion, and lots of little embroidered crosses. Of course after people saw your package they had to put a bunch of the embroidered crosses on my desk but all is well, I'm using a book they sent as a plate.
